Simply Stated -
Go With Experience

With over 30 years of experience in manufacturing Total Organic Carbon (TOC) Analyzers, Teledyne Tekmar is proud to offer the Dohrmann Series Apollo 9000 Total Organic Carbon (TOC) Analyzer. Integrating a high throughput XYZ autosampler and employing revolutionary open architecture design concepts, the Apollo 9000 Total Organic Carbon (TOC) Analyzer is the standard for analytical dependability, versatility, and productivity.

Building on years of experience, the Apollo 9000 Total Organic Carbon (TOC) Analyzer offers superior analytical accuracy and precision for a wide range of laboratory TOtal Organic Carbon (TOC) applications.

Simple, Effective Methodology
The Apollo 9000 Total Organic Carbon (TOC) Analyzer uses combustion (680°C to 1000°C) with a patented reusable platinum catalyst for the lowest detection limits while maximizing TOC recovery. This TOC technique has the characteristics of being effective for difficult to oxidize compounds such as proteins, particulates and samples with high salt content. The analytical methodology implemented by the Apollo 9000 Total Organic Carbon (TOC) Analyzer optimizes rinsing on every injection to prevent carryover.

Simple to Apply
The Apollo 9000 Total Organic Carbon (TOC) Analyzer is best for applications requiring particulate analysis such as wastewater and industrial effluents, as well as drinking, surface, seawaters, brines and certain Clean-in-Place (CIP) applications.

Wastewater and Industrial Effluent
Since the relationship between BOD, COD and TOC was established in the late 1970s, Total Organic Carbon (TOC) analyzers have become an analytical backbone in many wastewater and industrial effluent treatment laboratories worldwide. The Apollo 9000 Total Organic Carbon (TOC) Analyzer is highly recommended for this application. Designed specifically for TOC analysis of dirty, salty or particulated water, the Apollo 9000 Total Organic Carbon (TOC) Analyzer provides high throughput for difficult real-world samples. With an optional Total Nitrogen (TN) module, the Apollo 9000 Total Organic Carbon (TOC) Analyzer can analyze both TOC and TN simultaneously. Optional sampling accessories such as magnetic stirring, particulate sample kit, plus a variable furnace temperature aid in the analysis of the most difficult applications and exceed industry methods such as Europe’s EN 1484 or ISO 8245 rigorous particulate requirements.

Source and Drinking Water
Water treatment plants use TOC as a simple, fast and inexpensive screen to determine natural organic material (NOM). The USEPA and the drinking water industry have promulgated the Disinfectants and Disinfection By-Products Rule (D/DBP) to reduce the public risk of exposure to harmful by-products during water purification. The Apollo 9000 Total Organic Carbon (TOC) Analyzer and Apollo 9000 Total Organic Carbon (TOC) Analyzer HS meet this requirement within Standard Method 5310B, as well as EPA Methods 415.3, 9060, and EN-1484.

Simple by Design
The Apollo 9000 Total Organic Carbon (TOC) Analyzer is designed to be simple to use and easy to maintain. Virtually any component can be accessed in less than two minutes. Glassware is placed at the front of the unit for easy access and monitoring. Sample and gas lines are color coded for quick identification. Internal components are carefully laid out with the customer in mind. A static injection port is utilized instead of a slider injection port. No moving parts during sample injection allows for consistent, long-term, leak-free operation. As a result, down time and cost of operation is kept to a minimum.

The Non-Dispersive Infra-Red (NDIR) detector in the Apollo 9000 Total Organic Carbon (TOC) Analyzer is sensitive for very low levels of TOC. Since the NDIR detector has an especially wide linear range, the need for multiple calibration curves or time-wasting reruns is minimized. The NDIR detector in the Apollo 9000 Total Organic Carbon (TOC) Analyzer directly and specifically measures the carbon dioxide generated by oxidation of the organic carbon in the sample. This method offers the only practical interference-free detection in TOC analysis. Any potential interference is removed by in-line scrubbers or filters as the sample gas is swept to the detector. Since the sample is in a gaseous form, the sample does not come into direct contact with the NDIR. This increases the life of your detector by five to ten years, as compared to detectors that analyze the sample in a liquid form.
