US Pharmacopeia Method <643>: System Suitability Test for Total Organic Carbon (TOC) Analysis on the Phoenix 8000 UV/Persulfate TOC Analyzer
US Pharmacopeia Method <643>, the replacement for the oxidizable substances test, has created a new demand for analytically dependable low level TOC analysis. Consequently, an automated UV/ persulfate TOC analyzer has been developed to provide low detection limits, plus a true TOC measurement for standardization and validation. In this study, the US Pharmacopeia Method <643> System Suitability Test was performed on the Phoenix 8000 to demonstrate its long-term stability in analyzing pharmaceutical waters.
